Located on the St. Johns River, Hontoon Island State Park is only accessible by boat or ferry, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience nature, recreation, and Florida history.

Activities

Paddling, fishing, hiking, biking, and camping are popular activities at the park. Canoe, kayak, and bicycle rentals are available from the island store, while picnic areas feature tables, grills, and a playground for families to enjoy.

Overnight boat slip rentals are also available. The park’s ferry operates daily from 8 a.m. to one hour before sunset. Hontoon Island is located at 2309 River Ridge Road, DeLand, FL 32720.
